Cookies

This site sets none. There is no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no embedded video, no chat widget and no social button. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to ask you about.

One thing is stored in your own browser and never leaves it: whether you dismissed the notice at the top of the page. It is cleared when you close the tab, and we never see it.

What the server records

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, their servers keep short-lived technical logs of requests — an IP address, the page asked for, the time, and the browser’s user-agent string. We use them for nothing. We do not build profiles, and we do not join them to anything else.

If you message us

If you email, message us on WhatsApp, or ring and leave a voicemail, we hold what you sent — your name, your number or address, your yard’s name if you give it, and what you asked about — so that we can answer you and carry on the conversation.

Why we may hold it
Our legitimate interest in answering an enquiry about our product, and where a conversation becomes an order, to take steps at your request before a contract.
Where it sits
Email in Google Workspace. WhatsApp messages in WhatsApp Business. Voicemail arrives in the same mailbox as a sound file. Those companies hold it as our suppliers.
How long
Two years from our last exchange, unless you become a customer, in which case the business records are kept as long as company and tax law requires. Ask us to delete an enquiry sooner and we will.
Who else sees it
Nobody. We do not sell, rent or share enquiry details, and we do not send marketing to people who asked us a question.

The yards who use the software

This is the website. The app itself is a separate matter, and the split is worth stating plainly: for the sellers’ details a yard records — names, addresses, ID documents, payments — the yard is the controller and we are its processor. We hold that data on the yard’s behalf, under a written agreement, and we do not use it for anything of our own. The app carries its own privacy notice covering every class of that data, and a yard sees it on signing in.

The app’s records are held in the United Kingdom, in London.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, or object to us holding it. Email hello@scraplog.co.uk and we will answer within one month.

If we get it wrong you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or ring their helpline on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first, but you do not have to.
