At the gate
The load is written once, at the scale, and the sum is worked out on the screen. No argument about the tub — it goes on empty while the seller watches, every time.
No signal at the back of the yard? The load is taken anyway and goes up by itself.
In the office
The load arrives from the gate already made, so nothing is typed in twice. Any load is found from the slip code, a name, the van or the metal.
When the council asks for the registers, they print for whatever dates you pick.
For you
What is on the yard, without walking it. The numbers add up, and where they cannot it says so instead of showing you a zero it does not mean.
A posted ticket cannot be quietly changed by anybody. The book stays the book.
The only kit is a phone.
If there is a phone or tablet in the yard, that is the kit. Nothing to buy and nothing to fit at the gate.
The other way to buy this is from a weighbridge company, and their quote comes with cameras, barriers, a driver terminal and a signature pad before the software has started. None of that here.
Your scales are in it. Each weighbridge and bench scale is set up by name, with its calibration certificate and the date it runs out. Every load says which one it was weighed on. The weight itself is typed off the display.
1 October 2026 — and only if you hold a permit.
Hold a permit, and the ticket you already made goes to Defra inside the deadline. Nobody does anything extra.
Hold an exemption, and nothing is sent and nothing at your gate changes. Defra have said exemptions come in a later phase, so it is worth knowing which one you hold.
Consignment notes and the quarterly return carry on exactly as they are. This is a new thing on top, not a replacement, whatever anyone tells you.
